Expanding Access to Care: Elation’s AI Note Assist Now Supports 12 More Languages
Breaking down language barriers to deliver inclusive, relationship-centered care
At Elation Health, our mission is to empower primary care clinicians with tools that enable more effective, meaningful care for every patient. Today, we’re proud to announce a major enhancement to that mission — our AI-powered Note Assist now supports 12 additional languages, making it easier than ever for clinicians to connect with their patients, no matter what language they speak.
Serving Diverse Communities Through Language Inclusivity
In the U.S., one in five people speak a language other than English at home. For primary care clinicians, this presents a meaningful challenge — and an incredible opportunity — to deliver care that truly meets patients where they are.
That’s why our latest update to Note Assist includes support for:
-
Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese)
-
German
-
French
-
Japanese
-
Korean
-
Russian
-
Portuguese
-
Tagalog
-
Hindi
-
Vietnamese
-
Arabic
These languages join English and Spanish, already supported by Note Assist, to give clinicians the ability to engage with patients and families in a broader range of native languages.
Real-Time Multilingual Transcription – Designed for Primary Care
Conversations in the exam room are dynamic — often shifting between English and a patient's preferred language. Elation’s Note Assist is built to adapt in real time, detecting and transcribing multilingual dialogue seamlessly. This capability supports clinicians in capturing accurate, English-language clinical notes while ensuring the conversation stays fluent and natural for the patient.
Whether a visit is conducted fully in Korean or moves fluidly between Tagalog and English, Note Assist keeps pace — empowering clinicians to stay present with their patients while maintaining consistent, clear documentation.
“AI is helping us to do incredible things for the primary care community — not just reducing administrative burden, but setting a higher bar for what clinicians should ask from their EHR technology partners,” said Phill Tornroth, VP of Engineering at Elation Health. “Primary care is powerful because of the physician-patient relationship, and being able to communicate in a patient’s own language is a major part of that.”
Built for the Clinical Workflow
Note Assist is more than a transcription tool — it’s a deeply integrated, context-aware feature of Elation’s clinical-first EHR. By drawing from the patient’s chart and clinician-defined templates, it creates precise, personalized documentation that supports every step of the clinical encounter.
And now, with expanded language support, it brings even greater value to practices that serve diverse communities. This update comes at no additional cost to existing Note Assist users — part of our ongoing commitment to deliver thoughtful, inclusive innovation.
Supporting Communities Across the Nation
Our language expansion builds on recent milestones in Elation’s work to support culturally competent care. In April, we announced our partnership with Seoul Medical Group, the nation’s largest Korean-American Independent Practice Association, serving over 100,000 patients. And last summer, Astrana Health joined with Elation to enhance care for one million Americans in value-based arrangements.
Whether it’s through partnerships or product innovation, we’re dedicated to equipping primary care clinicians with the technology they need to care for every patient — no matter where they’re from or what language they speak.
